I have no regrets about printing and painting this Eldritch Vessel by Jigglystix. But it made me sweat, folks. Not in a sexy way- it’s a great model, worth getting sweaty over- but wow I had problems. Default print size came out half as big as I wanted. Reprinted. Horn snapped off. Toes snapped off. Colour selection came near to regret. I didn’t get the Uhu I meant to for her maw. Many many many “goddammit” moments.
But the end result is a sexy sculpt with skin I’m very happy with and very neato eyeballs that include some of the best I’ve ever done, and a sufficiently convincing “this is spooky” effect on teeth and tentacles. There’s SO much that makes me want to reprint again and repaint- and maybe in a year or two I will, because this sculpt deserves a better paint job than I managed, but… painting at the edge of my skillset is how I get better. Mistakes were made, and that’s how I get better. I like her and I’ll use her on the field, and when I reprint her again she’s gonna be huge and I’m gonna get nurgley with it.
